Q
Are any plug-ins or downloads required before visitors
can watch PANOPTIC images on a website?
A
Fortunately no, PANOPTIC images can be viewed instantly
without the need for plug-ins, flash or special browser
settings. To view the panorama images, a simple Java
Script is automatically downloaded by your browser when
viewing any PANOPTIC images, but it might be necessary
to install the
Microsoft
Java Machine.
Click on the link to install the Java Machine which is
needed to view any kind of Java application on your PC.
Q
What are the common file sizes of PANOPTIC images - how
long do people have to wait until they appear?
A
An average sized PANOPTIC images is somewhere between 70
to 150 kilobyte in size and takes only about 12 to 30
seconds until it appears on the screen. This is far less
than the time a relatively useless flash intro would
need to be downloaded.
Q
Can PANOPTIC images be also re-sized? I would like to
have full screen versions for off-line presentations on
my laptop computer.
A
We can create PANOPTIC images in any size you wish, even
screen-filling in 1280x1024 sizes.
Q
I already have a website and a webmaster but can you do
the PANOPTIC images for me and my webmaster implements
them? I am afraid to otherwise lose my webmaster when
letting other companies interfere with my website.
A
No worries, even though PANOPTIC images are done by us,
you won't be in trouble with your webmaster. We will put
all panorama images on a disc along with instructions of
how to implement them in your website. If your webmaster
experiences problems, he is always invited to contact us
for help.
Q
I have seen panoramas already on the web, but there I
only could look around, not up and down - Why are
PANOPTIC images so incredibly different and life-like?
What is the secret?
A
PANOPTIC images is not a miracle, it simply uses today's
digital technology and camera equipment to the max.
Normal panoramas are taken with simple wide angle lenses
and several images seamlessly welded together. We use
extremely expensive optics and camera equipment.
Q
Is this done with a video camera? Is it a mini movie or
what?
A
PANOPTIC images are interactive images, no movies. That
exactly is what makes it so great - you won't need a
special player or program to see them - only your
standard web browser!
Q
Are PANOPTIC images only for websites or could I show
clients my Real Estate Project on a laptop? This would
be awesome for sales - I am getting Goosebumps while
typing this - please answer ASAP!
A
Great question! Your Goosebumps might remain a bit
longer, as you will be able to show clients every room,
every inch of the garden and pool with PANOPTIC images
on a laptop computer! We will burn the stuff on disc for
you and you may do several copies to send them to
clients and for co workers to use.
Q
I would like to order some of your 360 degree panoramas
for my boat to put them on a website. But I am worried
that your panoramas won't work in such a confined space
- please advise.
A
PANOPTIC images work for the tiniest room and any
confined space.
Q
I have seen similar images as yours. But when I moved
them, they were not moving as smoothly as yours plus I
had to download a 5 MB plugin before watching those
images. Why are PANOPTIC images so fast and smooth?
A
PANOPTIC images uses a simple Java Script for viewing -
plug-ins are totally unnecessary, but it might be
necessary to install the
Microsoft
Java Machine. The edgy moving images you described
might have been a result of someone punching a frame
into it to kind of brand mark the image. When this goes
along with disadvantages for the user, it should by all
means be avoided. We simply include our logo at the
bottom of each image and use no frames and no plug-ins.
Voila - all smooth!
Q
Can I do PANOPTIC images on my own?
A
Not without loosing a lot of sweat, money and tears
PANOPTIC images need a professional photographer, high
end equipment and a solid background in computer
graphics, use of related programs plus the right eye for
colors, etc...
This is more as an art form, than a simple photo job.
Q
What does the name PANOPTIC images
stand for, what's the meaning?
A
PAN stands for "panorama" and OPTIC stands for "view -
what you see"
"Panorama View" |
